சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் நடைபெற்ற விசாரணையில், தேர்தல் ஆணையம் சார்பில் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்ட அறிக்கையில், “வாக்காளர் பட்டியலில் திருத்தம் செய்யும் பணிகள் வெளிப்படையாகவும் சட்டப்படி நடைபெறுகின்றன. எந்தவொரு அரசியல் சார்பும் இல்லாமல் பொதுமக்கள் நம்பிக்கையுடன் இதில் பங்கேற்கலாம்” என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
மேலும், வாக்காளர் பட்டியலில் பெயர் சேர்க்கும், திருத்தும் அல்லது நீக்கும் பணிகள் முழுமையான கண்காணிப்பில் நடைபெறுவதாகவும், இதற்காக சிறப்பு அதிகாரிகள் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் ஆணையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
The Election Commission of India has clarified that citizens need not worry about the ongoing special voter list revision. In an affidavit submitted to the Madras High Court, the commission stated that all procedures are being carried out transparently and in accordance with the law.
Officials emphasized that the revision process — including additions, deletions, and corrections — is under strict supervision to ensure fairness. The Election Commission urged the public to cooperate confidently and participate actively in the democratic process.
