According to the G20 economic review, India’s wealthiest 1% now control nearly 41% of the nation’s total wealth, marking a 62% surge in their net worth over two decades. The report highlights a widening gap between the ultra-rich and the middle class.
It also notes that while billionaire wealth continues to grow rapidly, income growth among the working class remains stagnant. Economists have urged policy reforms to address wealth inequality and ensure balanced economic development across sectors.
