அதிமுக முன்னாள் அமைச்சர் ஜெயக்குமார் தலைமையில் நடைபெற்ற செய்தியாளர் சந்திப்பில், “வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் திருத்த பணிகளில் அரசியல் கட்சிகள் அல்ல, தேர்தல் அதிகாரிகள்தான் மனு வழங்க வேண்டும்” என அவர் வலியுறுத்தினார்.
அரசியல் கட்சிகள் நேரடியாக ஈடுபடுவது தேர்தல் நடைமுறைக்கு விரோதம் என்றும், அதிகாரிகள் பாகுபாடின்றி செயல்பட வேண்டும் என்றும் அவர் கூறினார். இதை தேர்தல் ஆணையம் தீவிரமாக கண்காணிக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கோரிக்கை விடுத்தார்.
Former minister Jayakumar has stated that only election officials have the right to submit complaints regarding voter list corrections, not political parties. Speaking to the media, he alleged that certain parties are trying to influence the SIR verification process for political gain.
He urged the Election Commission to ensure neutrality and transparency among officials handling the revision. “Political interference in administrative work undermines democracy,” he warned, calling for strict monitoring of the ongoing voter verification process.
