தமிழகத்தில் ஆம்னி பேருந்து உரிமையாளர்கள், அரசின் அதிகரித்த வரி எதிர்ப்பை தெரிவித்தும், மாநிலத்துக்குள் பேருந்து சேவையை தற்காலிகமாக நிறுத்தியுள்ளனர். இதனால் பல்வேறு மாவட்டங்களுக்கு பயணம் திட்டமிட்டிருந்த பயணிகள் குழப்பமடைந்துள்ளனர்.
ஒரே இந்தியா திட்டத்தின் பெயரில் கூடுதல் வரி விதிக்கப்பட்டதால் தொழில் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக உரிமையாளர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். தீர்வு எடுக்கும் வரை சேவை தொடங்க முடியாது எனவும் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
பெரும் நகரங்களை இணைக்கும் சேவை நிறுத்தப்பட்டதால் தனியார் பேருந்துகளை நம்பியிருந்த பொதுமக்களுக்கு சிரமம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. வரி சுமையை குறைக்காத வரை போராட்டம் தொடரும் என உரிமையாளர்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
