திண்டுக்கல் ரயில் நிலையத்தில் வெளியூர் ரயிலில் கடத்தி வரப்பட்ட 4 கிலோ கஞ்சா மற்றும் 22 கிலோ குட்கா பொட்டல்கள் ரயில்வே போலீசார் கைப்பற்றியுள்ளனர். சந்தேகத்துக்கிடமான பைகளில் சோதனை நடத்தியபோது இந்தப் பொருட்கள் பறிமுதல் செய்யப்பட்டன.
நீர்வாகத் திணற்றும் ஸ்டேஷன் பகுதியில் தொடர்ந்து நடக்கும் சோதனைகளில் பல்வேறு போதைப்பொருள் கடத்தல் முயற்சிகள் தடுக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. தமிழகத்தில் ரயில் வழியாக போதை பொருட்கள் பரவி வருவதாக போலீசார் எச்சரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர்.
Railway police at Dindigul seized 4 kg of ganja and 22 kg of banned gutka packets that were being smuggled into Tamil Nadu through an outbound train. The contraband was found during inspections of suspicious luggage.
Officials said continuous checks at the station have helped curb several smuggling attempts. Authorities also warned that drug trafficking through trains remains a concern across the state.
