அரசு வேலை வழங்குவதாக கூறி பல லட்சம் ரூபாய் வசூலித்ததாக முன்னாள் பல்கலைக்கழக அதிகாரி மீது மாணவர்கள் புகார் அளித்துள்ளனர். இந்த மோசடி சுமார் ரூ.2.5 கோடி வரை சென்றதாக புகார்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. அதிகாரப்பூர்வ விசாரணை தொடங்கப்பட்ட நிலையில், மாணவர்கள் ஆத்திரம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
முன்னாள் துணைவேந்தர் பதவியில் இருந்த காலத்தில் வேலை வாய்ப்பு பெயரில் ஏமாற்றம் நடத்தப்பட்டதாக கூறப்படும் இந்த வழக்கு, கல்வி துறையில் பெரும் அதிர்ச்சியைக் கிளப்பியுள்ளது. பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் நீதிமன்றத்தில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்துள்ளனர்.
