கோயம்புத்தூரில் காட்டன் கழிவு விலை தொடர்ந்து அதிகரித்து வருவதால் எண்ணற்ற நாட்களுக்கு மேலாக உள்ளூர்த் தொழிலாளர்கள் வேலை நின்று போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர். கழிவு விலை உயர்வால் உற்பத்திச்செலவு அதிகரித்து, தொழில்கள் பாதிக்கப்படுகின்றன என அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.
தமிழ்நாட்டிலேயே 600 மில்லியன் பாதிக்கு மேல் காட்டன் சார்ந்த தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் உள்ள நிலையில், லட்சக்கணக்கான தொழிலாளர்களின் வாழ்க்கை நேரடியாக பாதிக்கப்படுவதாக சங்கங்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. விலை உயர்வை கட்டுப்படுத்த அரசு தலையீடு அவசியம் என தொழிலாளர்கள் கோரிக்கை வைக்கின்றனர்.
In Coimbatore, the continuous rise in cotton waste prices has triggered strong opposition from mill workers, forcing many units to halt operations. Workers say the price hike has pushed production costs up and disrupted regular work schedules.
With more than 600 million units in Tamil Nadu linked to the cotton industry, lakhs of workers are directly affected by the price surge. Trade associations have urged the government to intervene immediately to stabilize cotton waste prices and protect livelihoods.
