ZOMATO வாடிக்கையாளர்களை குறிவைக்கும் போலி அழைப்புகள் குறித்து புதிய எச்சரிக்கை | New warning issued about fake calls targeting Zomato customers
சென்னையில் Zomato பெயரை பயன்படுத்தி வாடிக்கையாளர்களுக்கு போலி அழைப்புகள் வந்து, ஆர்டர் ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டது, பணம் திரும்ப பெற வேண்டும் என்கிற பெயரில் OTP மற்றும் தனிப்பட்ட விவரங்களை கேட்ட சம்பவங்கள் அதிகரித்து வருகின்றன. இதனால் பலரும் மோசடியில் பணத்தை இழந்துள்ளதாக புகார்கள் உயர்ந்து வருகின்றன.
போலி அழைப்புகள் பெரும்பாலும் ‘Zomato Customer Care’ என்ற பெயரில் வருகிறது. உணவில் பிரச்சனை, ரீஃபண்ட், டெலிவரி பிரச்சனை போன்ற காரணங்களை சொல்லி வாடிக்கையாளர்களை நம்ப வைத்து, அவர்களின் வங்கி விவரங்களை கேட்கிறனர். இதுகுறித்து சைபர் கிரைம் பிரிவு விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகிறது.
Zomato has issued an advisory saying it never calls customers asking for bank details, OTP, or password. Fake callers have been targeting users by claiming issues with food orders, refunds or cancellations. Several customers have already reported losing money through this scam.
Cybercrime authorities have urged the public to avoid sharing personal or banking details over phone calls and to verify any communication directly through the official Zomato app. Citizens are advised to stay alert and report suspicious calls immediately.
