தமிழ்நாடு பட்டதாரி ஆசிரியர் சங்கம், டெட் தேர்வில் தகுதி பெற வேண்டிய மதிப்பெண்ணை இப்போது நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள 55 சதவீதத்திலிருந்து 50 சதவீதமாகக் குறைக்க வேண்டும் என கல்விக்கழகத்திடம் கோரிக்கை வைத்துள்ளது. மாநிலம் முழுவதும் பல ஆயிரம் ஆசிரியர் பணியிடங்கள் காலியாக உள்ள சூழ்நிலையில் இந்த மாற்றம் மாணவர்களின் கல்வித் தரத்தை மேம்படுத்தும் வகையில் இருக்குமென சங்கம் கூறுகிறது.
டெட் தேர்வில் ஒரு லட்சத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பணியில் உள்ள மற்றும் புதிய ஆசிரியர்கள் கலந்து கொண்ட நிலையில், பல மாவட்டங்களில் தகுதியான المرுந்து ஆசிரியர்கள் பற்றாக்குறை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. இந்தக் குறைப்பால் பலர் தகுதி பெற்று பள்ளிகளில் நியமனம் பெறும் வாய்ப்பு அதிகரிக்கும் என ஆசிரியர் அமைப்புகள் வலியுறுத்துகின்றன.
Tamil Nadu Graduate Teachers’ Association has requested the state education department to reduce the TET qualifying mark from the existing 55% to 50%. With thousands of teacher vacancies remaining unfilled across districts, the association argues that lowering the cut-off will help recruit more eligible teachers while maintaining education quality.
As more than one lakh teachers—both serving and new applicants—appear for TET every year, officials say many districts face a shortage of qualified candidates. Teacher unions believe that the reduction in pass percentage will open opportunities for more aspirants and help fill long-pending vacancies in government schools.
