பீஹார் மாநிலத்தில் 6 மாவட்டங்களைச் சேர்ந்த 40 தாய்மார்களின் தாய்ப்பாலில் யூரேனியம் கலந்திருப்பதாக ஆராய்ச்சி அறிக்கை அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. 5.25 மைக்ரோகிராம் வரை யூரேனியம் இருப்பது விஞ்ஞானிகளால் உறுதிசெய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
குழந்தைகள் உள்வாங்கும் தாய்ப்பாலின் மூலம் யூரேனியம் உடலில் சேர வாய்ப்பு இருப்பதால், குழந்தைகளின் வளர்ச்சி, உடல் நலம் மற்றும் மூளை வளர்ச்சியிலும் அபாயம் ஏற்படக்கூடும் என மருத்துவர்கள் எச்சரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர். மாநிலம் முழுவதும் தண்ணீர் தரத்தை உடனடியாக பரிசோதித்து பாதுகாப்பு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என மக்கள் கோரிக்கை வலுத்து வருகிறது.
Researchers have detected uranium contamination in breast milk samples from 40 mothers across 6 districts in Bihar, raising severe public health concerns. Levels were found to be as high as 5.25 micrograms, shocking medical experts and environmental scientists.
Doctors warn that infants consuming contaminated breast milk may face risks to overall development, immune system strength, and neurological growth. Public demand is growing rapidly for urgent testing and purification of drinking water across Bihar to prevent further exposure. The state government is expected to issue an official response soon.
