கடலூர் மாவட்டம் சேத்தியாத்தோப்பு பகுதியில் மின்கம்பி திடீரென அறுந்து அருகே சென்றவர்களைத் தாக்கியதில் 2 பெண்கள் உட்பட 3 பேர் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே உயிரிழந்த துயரச் சம்பவம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
உயிரிழந்தவர்கள் அருகிலுள்ள பகுதியில் வசித்த பொதுமக்கள் என அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளனர். சம்பவத்தால் பகுதி முழுவதும் பெரும் துயரமும் அதிர்ச்சியும் நிலவுகிறது.
மின்கம்பி பழுதாக இருந்தது குறித்து உள்ளூர் மக்கள் பலமுறை புகார் தெரிவித்திருந்தாலும், சரியான பராமரிப்பு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படவில்லை என்பதே மக்களின் குற்றச்சாட்டு.
சம்பவத்துக்குப் பிறகு மின்சார வாரிய அதிகாரிகள் பகுதி முழுவதும் மின்விநியோகத்தை நிறுத்தி விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகின்றனர்.
