The Malaysian government has announced strict restrictions on the use of social media by children under 16, aiming to curb rising cases of cyber harassment and online exploitation. Under the new rule, minors are prohibited from creating or using any social media account without verified parental consent.
Officials stated that this regulation is intended to protect children from online predators, fraud, and harmful digital content. Schools and educational institutions have also been instructed to support and enforce these new safety measures.
