தமிழகத்திலும் இந்தியாவின் பல பகுதிகளிலும் அதிகரித்து வரும் வெறுப்பு பேச்சுகளை கருத்தில் கொண்டு, தனி சட்டம் இயற்ற முடியாது என்று உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. தற்போது உள்ள சட்டங்களே இதுபோன்ற குற்றங்களை கையாள போதுமானவை என்றும் நீதிபதிகள் கருத்து தெரிவித்தனர்.
உள்ளூர் போலீசாரும் உயர் நீதிமன்றங்களும் உள்துறை வழிகாட்டுதல்களை பின்பற்றி, உடனடியாக நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என உச்சநீதிமன்றம் வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளது. பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் புகார் அளித்தால் தாமதமின்றி குற்றவாளிகள் மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் நீதிமன்றம் கூறியுள்ளது.
The Supreme Court of India has ruled that a separate new law for hate speech is unnecessary at this stage, stating that existing laws are sufficient to handle such offences. The court emphasized that the police and lower courts must enforce current laws strictly and without delay.
The bench also directed authorities that immediate action must be taken when complaints related to hate speech are filed. The judges further highlighted that protection of victims and quick legal proceedings are essential to curb such incidents across the country.
