திருநெல்வேலியில் நடைபெற்று வரும் சிறப்பு தீவிர வாக்காளர் திருத்துப் பணியில், பல்வேறு காரணங்களால் 78,000 வாக்காளர்கள் பட்டியலிலிருந்து நீக்கப்பட வாய்ப்பு உள்ளதாக மாவட்ட தேர்தல் அலுவலர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
மொத்தம் 13.65 லட்சம் பட்டியல்கள் வீடுவீடாக விநியோகிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில், முகவரி மாற்றம், இறப்புகள் மற்றும் இடம்பெயர்வு காரணமாக பெரிய மாற்றம் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளதாக அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.
இதில் 54,913 பேர் இறந்தவர்கள் எனவும், 18,933 பேர் மாவட்டத்தை விட்டு இடம்பெயர்ந்தவர்கள் எனவும் அதிகாரபூர்வ தகவல் கூறுகிறது.
A large-scale voter list revision is currently underway in Tirunelveli district, where officials have identified nearly 78,000 voters who may be removed from the electoral rolls.
Out of 13.65 lakh voter slips distributed, major discrepancies were found due to address changes, deaths and migration, according to district authorities.
This includes 54,913 deceased voters and 18,933 migrated individuals, as confirmed by the election department’s latest assessment.
