ஹாங்காஙின் தை போ பகுதியில் உள்ள உயரமான குடியிருப்பு கட்டிடத்தில் ஏற்பட்ட பெரும் தீ விபத்தில் இதுவரை 44 பேர் உயிரிழந்துள்ளனர். மேலும் 279 பேர் காணாமல் போயிருக்கின்றனர் என ஆரம்ப தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. தீ வேகமாக பல தளங்களுக்கு பரவியதால், கட்டிடத்திலிருந்து வெளியேற முடியாமல் பலர் சிக்கியதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
திடீரென ஏற்பட்ட இந்த பெரும் தீயை அணைக்கும் பணியில் 4000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட வீரர்கள் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார்கள். பல மணிநேர போராட்டத்திற்குப் பிறகு, சில தளங்களில் மட்டுமே தீயை கட்டுப்படுத்த முடிந்ததாக அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். தற்போது 279 பேரை மீட்கும் நடவடிக்கைகள் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்று வருவதாக மீட்பு குழுக்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளன.
A massive fire ripped through a high-rise residential building in Hong Kong’s Tai Po area, killing at least 44 people. Another 279 individuals are reported missing, with rescue teams racing against time to locate survivors.
Over 4,000 firefighters and emergency responders are involved in the operation. Despite hours of effort, the blaze could only be partially contained. Search and rescue operations continue as authorities fear the toll may rise further.
