தென்மேற்கு வங்கக்கடல் பகுதியில் நிலவி வந்த ஆழ்ந்த காற்றழுத்தத் தாழ்வு பகுதி, காற்றழுத்தத் தாழ்வு மண்டலமாக வலுப்பெற்றுள்ளதாக வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
காற்றழுத்தத் தாழ்வு மண்டலம் இன்று மதியம் 12 மணிக்கு மேலும் வலுப்பெறும் என கணிப்பு வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இதனால் தமிழகத்தின் பல கடலோர மாவட்டங்களில் அடுத்த 48 மணி நேரத்தில் கனமழை பெய்ய வாய்ப்பு அதிகரித்துள்ளதாகவும், மீனவர்கள் தீவிர எச்சரிக்கையுடன் கடலுக்கு செல்ல வேண்டாம் எனவும் அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
