கோவை மாவட்டம் வேலந்தவளம் பகுதியில் வழியாக சென்றிருந்த ஒரு இருசக்கர வாகனத்தை காவல்துறையினர் நிறுத்திச் சோதனை மேற்கொண்டபோது, சந்தேகத்திற்கிடமாக இருந்த பைகளில் ரூ.40 லட்சம் ரொக்கம் இருப்பது கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. பணத்தின் மூலமும் நோக்கமும் தெளிவாக விளக்கப்படாததால், காவல்துறையினர் அதை பறிமுதல் செய்தனர்.
திமுக ஆட்சியில் காவல்துறை கண்காணிப்பு தளர்வடைந்துள்ளதாக மக்களிடையே எழுந்து வரும் குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் காரணமாக, சட்டவிரோத பணப்பரிவர்த்தனைகளை தடுத்து நிறுத்த அதிகாரிகள் தீவிரமாக கண்காணிப்பில் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றனர்.
Police in Coimbatore’s Velandhavalam stopped a two-wheeler during routine checks and recovered ₹40 lakh in unaccounted cash from the bags carried by the riders.
With no proper explanation for the money’s origin or purpose, officials seized the cash and initiated further investigation, amid growing public concerns over illegal cash movement in the region.
