கடலூர் மாவட்டம் விருத்தாச்சலத்தில் புதிதாக கட்டப்பட்ட வீட்டு வேலை செய்துக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது, திடீரென ஏற்பட்ட மின்சாரம் தாக்கியதில் 16 வயது சிறுவன் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே உயிரிழந்தான். இந்த துயரச்சம்பவம் அந்தப் பகுதியில் பெரும் அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
வீட்டில் மின்சார இணைப்புகள் முறையாகப் பாதுகாக்கப்படாததே இந்த விபத்துக்குக் காரணமாக இருக்கலாம் என ஆரம்ப விசாரணையில் தெரியவந்துள்ளது. சம்பவம் குறித்து போலீசார் வழக்குப்பதிவு செய்து மேலான விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகின்றனர்.
