வேலூர் மாவட்டம் பேரணாம்பட்டு அருகே மாடுகளை சட்டவிரோதமாக கடத்த முயன்ற குழுவை பொதுமக்கள் சந்தேகத்தின் பேரில் தடுத்தனர். ஒருவரை பிடித்த நிலையில் காவல் நிலையத்துக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லும் முன், குழு முயன்ற கலகம் காரணமாக அங்கு பரபரப்பு நிலவியது. பின்னர் போலீசார் உடனடியாக தலையீடு செய்து மாடுகளை பாதுகாப்பாக கைப்பற்றினர்.
தொடர்ந்து நடத்தப்பட்ட விசாரணையில், கடத்தல் முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டவர்கள் கடந்த சில வாரங்களாகவே இந்த பகுதியில் செயல்பட்டு வந்ததற்கான தகவல்கள் வெளிவந்துள்ளன. மாடுகள் கடத்தலை கட்டுப்படுத்த கடுமையான கண்காணிப்பு அவசியம் என உள்ளூர் மக்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
Police investigations revealed that the group had allegedly been smuggling cattle for several weeks in the region. Officers placed the animals under safe custody and began tracing the remaining suspects after one was detained by locals.
Authorities emphasized that strict monitoring is needed in vulnerable rural routes to curb illegal cattle transport. Residents urged the government and police to intensify patrols to prevent recurring smuggling activities.
