சென்னையில் கடந்த இரண்டு நாட்களாக தொடர்ந்து கனமழை பெய்து வருவதால் பல பகுதிகளில் நீர்வீழ்ச்சி மற்றும் போக்குவரத்து சிரமங்கள் உருவாகியுள்ளன. இதனை முன்னிட்டு பாதுகாப்பு காரணங்களால் பள்ளிகளுக்கும் கல்லூரிகளுக்கும் நாளை விடுமுறை என அரசுத் தரப்பு அறிவித்துள்ளது.
மழை மேலும் தீவிரமாவதற்கான வாய்ப்பு இருப்பதாக வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் தெரிவித்ததால், மாணவர்கள் வீடுகளில் இருந்து பாதுகாப்பாக இருக்க வேண்டுமென கேட்டுக் கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது. பள்ளி நிர்வாகங்களுக்கும் தேவையான முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்க அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
