அக்டோபர்–நவம்பர் மாதங்களில் பெய்த கனமழையால் தமிழ்நாட்டின் பல மாவட்டங்களில் விவசாய நிலங்கள் கடுமையாக பாதிக்கப்பட்டன. நெற்பயிர், காய்கறி மற்றும் தோட்டக்கலைப் பயிர்கள் நீரில் மூழ்கி, பல இடங்களில் முழுமையான சேதம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்த நிலையில், அரசால் அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட நிவாரணத் தொகை மற்றும் உதவிகள் விவசாயிகளின் உண்மையான இழப்புகளை ஈடு செய்யவில்லை என விவசாய சங்கங்கள் குற்றம் சாட்டுகின்றன. விதை, உரம், தொழிலாளர் செலவு உள்ளிட்ட முதலீடுகள் கணக்கில் கொள்ளப்படவில்லை என்றும், நிவாரணத் தொகை மிகக் குறைவாக இருப்பதாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது.
பயிர் சேத மதிப்பீடு தாமதமாக நடைபெறுவதும், பலர் பெயர் பட்டியலில் இடம்பெறாததும் விவசாயிகளின் அதிருப்தியை அதிகரித்துள்ளது. மழை பாதித்த மாவட்டங்களில் முழுமையான ஆய்வு செய்து உரிய இழப்பீடு வழங்க வேண்டும் என்ற கோரிக்கை வலுத்துள்ளது.
Following heavy rains in October and November, several agricultural regions across Tamil Nadu witnessed extensive crop damage. Paddy fields, vegetable farms, and horticulture crops were submerged, leading to significant losses for farmers.
Farmers’ associations have criticized the government’s relief package, stating that the announced compensation does not match the actual losses incurred. They argue that costs related to seeds, fertilizers, and labour have not been properly factored into the relief calculations.
There are also concerns over delays in crop damage assessment and exclusion of affected farmers from official beneficiary lists. Farmers are urging the state government to conduct a comprehensive field survey and announce enhanced compensation to ensure timely agricultural recovery.
