தமிழ்நாட்டில் சிறப்பு தீவிர வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் திருத்தப் பணியின் போது பெரும் மாற்றங்கள் பதிவாகியுள்ளன. சமீபத்திய கணக்கெடுப்பின் படி, மாநிலம் முழுவதும் 23.83 லட்சம் புதிய வாக்காளர்கள் பட்டியலில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
இதற்கிடையில், 6.41 கோடி வாக்காளர்களில் 59 லட்சம் பேர் பல்வேறு காரணங்களால் நீக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தேர்தல் ஆணையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இடமாற்றம், மரணம், இரட்டைப் பதிவு போன்ற காரணங்களால் இந்த நீக்கங்கள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.
சென்னையில் மட்டும் 5.72 லட்சம் வாக்காளர்கள் பட்டியலில் இருந்து நீக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில், இந்த திருத்தப் பணியில் டிசம்பர் 16-ஆம் தேதி இறுதி பட்டியல் வெளியிடப்படும் என அதிகாரிகள் அறிவித்துள்ளனர்.
In Tamil Nadu, the special intensive revision of the electoral roll has resulted in major changes. According to recent data, 23.83 lakh new voters have been added across the state.
At the same time, out of a total 6.41 crore voters, nearly 59 lakh names have been deleted due to reasons such as migration, death, and duplicate registrations, the Election Commission stated.
In Chennai alone, 5.72 lakh voters have been removed from the rolls. Officials confirmed that the final revised voter list will be published on December 16, marking the completion of this revision exercise.
