டெல்டா மாவட்டங்களில் கனமழையால் பயிர்கள் நீரில் மூழ்கி பெரும் சேதம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாக விவசாயிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். தற்போது ஏக்கருக்கு ரூ.8,000 நிவாரணம் வழங்கப்படுவது போதுமானதாக இல்லை என அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.
ஒரு ஏக்கர் சாகுபடிக்கு ரூ.37,600 வரை செலவாகும் நிலையில், குறைந்தபட்சமாக ரூ.20,000 நிவாரணம் வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று விவசாய சங்கங்கள் வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. இதுகுறித்து அரசின் உடனடி தலையீடு அவசியம் என்றும் அவர்கள் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர்.
In the delta districts, heavy rainfall has submerged crops and caused extensive damage, according to farmers. They say the current compensation of Rs.8,000 per acre is inadequate to cover their losses.
Farmer associations point out that cultivation costs go up to Rs.37,600 per acre and have urged the government to provide at least Rs.20,000 as compensation. They have called for immediate action to support affected farmers.
