கடந்த சில நாட்களாக நெல் கொள்முதல் நடவடிக்கைகள் மந்தமாக நடைபெறுவதால், நூற்றுக்கணக்கான நெல் மூட்டைகள் திறந்தவெளியில் குவிந்து மழையால் நனைந்து சேதமடைந்துள்ளன. இதனால் விவசாயிகள் பெரும் நஷ்டத்தை சந்தித்து வருகின்றனர்.
நிலுவையில் உள்ள நெல் கொள்முதல் வேலையை அரசு உடனடியாக விரைவுபடுத்த வேண்டும் என்றும், விவசாயிகளின் நஷ்டத்தை தடுக்கும் நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்றும் விவசாய சங்கங்கள் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளன.
Farmers in Trichy district have reported irregularities and delays in paddy procurement centers, citing a shortage of staff and poor coordination. Large piles of paddy sacks have been left in the open, getting damaged due to recent rains.
Farmer associations have urged the government to expedite procurement operations and implement measures to prevent further losses. They also called for immediate compensation to affected farmers and stronger monitoring of paddy collection processes.
