ஈரோடு மாவட்டம் உசிமலை அருகே தோட்டத்தில் கஞ்சா செடிகள் வளர்க்கப்பட்டதாக தகவல் கிடைத்ததையடுத்து போலீசார் மலைப்பகுதியில் சோதனை நடத்தினர். அங்கு கஞ்சா செடிகளை வளர்த்த விவசாயி கைது செய்யப்பட்டு விசாரணைக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டார்.
விசாரணையில், கடந்த சில மாதங்களாக கஞ்சா செடிகளை ரகசியமாக வளர்த்து வந்ததாகவும், விற்பனைக்காக தயாரித்திருந்ததாகவும் போலீசார் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக வழக்கு பதிவு செய்து மேலதிக விசாரணை நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.
Police in Erode district’s Bargur Hills region arrested a farmer for allegedly cultivating cannabis plants in his private farmland near Usimalai. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and discovered several mature ganja plants ready for harvest.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to secretly growing the plants over the past few months for illegal sale. Authorities have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and further investigations are underway.
