கோளத்தூர் தொகுதியில் 4,379 போலி வாக்காளர்கள் அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளதாக மத்திய நிதியமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் குற்றம்சாட்டியுள்ளார். ஒரே முகவரியில் பல பெயர்கள் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும், மொத்தம் 5,964 குடியிருப்பு வீடுகள் சந்தேகப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் கூறியுள்ளார்.
வாக்காளர் பட்டியலில் பிழைகள் திருத்தப்பட வேண்டும் என அவர் தேர்தல் ஆணையத்திடம் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளார். இதுகுறித்து அரசியல் வட்டாரங்களில் கடும் விவாதம் நிலவுகிறது.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has alleged that over 4,300 fake voters have been identified in Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s Kolathur constituency. She claimed that several voter names were registered under the same address, calling it a serious electoral violation.
Sitharaman urged the Election Commission to conduct an immediate investigation and clean up the voter list. The issue has sparked intense political debate across Tamil Nadu, with opposition parties demanding transparency in the electoral roll.
