தமிழக மீனவர் பாதுகாப்பில் அவசர நடவடிக்கை தேவை | Urgent Measures Needed for Tamil Fishermen’s Safety
தமிழக மீனவர்கள் ஆழ்கடலில் சுதந்திரமாக மீன்பிடிக்கக்கூடிய சூழ்நிலை எப்போது வருமோ என்று கேள்வி எழுப்பி அவர்கள் தங்களது உயிர் மற்றும் உடல்நல பாதுகாப்புக்கான கவலைகளை வெளிப்படுத்தி வருகின்றனர். இலங்கை கடற்படையின் திடீர் துரத்தல், பிடித்தல் காரணமாக மீனவர்கள் கடலில் அச்சத்துடன் இருக்க வேண்டிய நிலை உருவாகியுள்ளது.
தங்கள் உடலுக்கும், உடைமைக்கும் பாதுகாப்பில்லாத சூழலில் மீன்பிடி தொழிலில் மெதுவாகக் குறைந்து வரும் வருவாய் இவர்களின் குடும்ப வாழ்வாதாரத்தையும் பாதித்து வருவதை மீனவர் சங்கங்கள் கவலைपूर्वமாக தெரிவித்து வருகின்றன.
இலங்கை அரசால் கைது செய்யப்பட்டு சிறையில் இருக்கும் தமிழக மீனவர்களின் குடும்பங்களுக்கு தேவையான உதவிகள் வழங்க வேண்டும் என்றும், மீனவர்களை பாதுகாப்பாக மீட்க மத்திய அரசு உடனடி நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டுமெனவும் வித்யா தீமுக அரசை வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளார்.
Tamil Nadu fishermen are questioning when they will be able to fish freely in deep seas without fear. Continuous threats and arrests by the Sri Lankan Navy have made fishing unsafe and unpredictable for them, causing deep concern across coastal communities.
The unsafe environment, along with declining income from fishing, is severely affecting the livelihood and wellbeing of thousands of families depending on the sea. Fishermen associations report rising fear among workers who risk their lives every day.
Vidya has urged the DMK government to immediately support the families of arrested fishermen and press the Central Government to take strong diplomatic action to ensure the safe return of those held in Sri Lankan custody.
