உலக சந்தை விலை உயர்வும், களத்தில் உரங்கள் நீண்டநாளாக வாய்ப்பில்லாமல் வைத்துக் கொள்ளப்படுவதும் காரணமாக, சாம்பா சாகுபடி செய்யும் விவசாயிகளின் செலவு பெருமளவில் அதிகரித்துள்ளதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
விவசாயிகள் இந்த நிலைமை தொடர்ந்தால் பயிர் செலவு தாங்க முடியாத நிலைக்கு தள்ளப்படும் என எச்சரித்து, உர விலையை கட்டுப்படுத்த அரசு உடனடி நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என வலியுறுத்துகின்றனர்.
Farmers in Trichy and Delta districts are struggling as fertilizer prices in private markets have risen sharply. Reports indicate that urea and other fertilizers are being sold at 20–30% above the government-fixed price.
Global price fluctuations and prolonged stock shortages are cited as key reasons behind this sudden increase, pushing up cultivation costs significantly for samba paddy farmers.
Farmers warn that if this situation continues, their crop expenses may become unsustainable. They are urging the government to intervene immediately and regulate fertilizer prices to protect agricultural livelihoods.
