திருப்பத்தூர் மாவட்டம் பூதார் நாட்டு மலைப்பகுதியில் போலீசார் நடத்திய சோதனையில் 1,000 லிட்டர் கள்ளச்சாராயம் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த தடுப்பு டிரம்முகள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. மலைப்பகுதியை தளமாகக் கொண்டு செயல்பட்ட குழுவை போலீசார் தீவிரமாக தேடி வருகின்றனர்.
நீர்வாகத் திணைக்களத்தின் தகவலின்படி, இந்த கள்ளச்சாராயம் ஆபத்தான ரசாயனங்கள் சேர்த்து தயாரிக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வாய்ப்புள்ளதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. இதனால் அந்தப்பகுதி மக்களும் சுற்றுப்புற சூழலுக்கும் பாதிப்பு ஏற்படக்கூடும் என அச்சம் எழுந்துள்ளது.
Villagers reported suspicious activity after noticing the smell and waste dumped near the hill area. Based on the tip-off, police teams located large drums containing fermented wash prepared for illicit liquor distillation.
Authorities have warned that consuming such illegally brewed liquor can cause severe health hazards. The police have intensified patrol and search operations to dismantle the entire racket and ensure safety in nearby villages.
