அக்டோபர் மாதத்தில் இந்தியாவின் தங்க இறக்குமதி பெருமளவில் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. ரூ.1,22,000 கோடி மதிப்பில் தங்கம் இறக்குமதி செய்யப்பட்டதாகத் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. இது கடந்த ஆண்டின் ரூ.41,000 கோடியுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் மும்மடங்கு அதிகமாகும் என நிபுணர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.
உள்நாட்டு தேவையின் உயர்வும், பண்டிகை கால வர்த்தகமும் இந்த மிகப்பெரிய இறக்குமதிக்கான முக்கிய காரணங்களாகக் கூறப்படுகின்றன. தங்க நகைகள், முதலீட்டு தங்கம் ஆகியவற்றில் மக்களின் விருப்பம் அதிகரித்துள்ளதாக வணிக வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
India’s gold imports have surged significantly in the month of October. Reports indicate that imports touched ₹1.22 lakh crore, nearly triple the previous year’s ₹41,000 crore, marking a substantial rise.
Experts attribute this jump to increased domestic demand and festive-season purchases. Jewellery sales and investment-led gold buying have played a major role in driving up the import volume nationwide.
