In Delhi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a high-level discussion with leading economists. It was stressed that expert recommendations must be incorporated into the preparation of India’s 2026–27 Union Budget. The consultation focused on economic growth, employment generation, investments and overall financial stability.
Experts suggested that more funding is required for agriculture, industry, exports, welfare schemes and inflation control in the upcoming financial year. Citizens expect the new budget to be more people-centric, reflecting their real-time needs and economic challenges.
