தமிழ்நாட்டை உட்பட நாடு முழுவதும் நிலுவையில் உள்ள 90 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட வழக்குகளை விரைவாக முடிக்க, கூர்யகாந்த் அடுத்த தலைமை நீதிபதியாக பொறுப்பேற்க உள்ளார். உயர்நீதிமன்றங்களை வலுப்படுத்தவும், தீர்ப்பளிப்பு வேகத்தை அதிகரிக்கவும் புதிய திட்டங்கள் செயல்படுத்தப்பட இருப்பதாக தகவல்.
நீதித்துறை தாமதம் காரணமாக பொதுமக்கள் மற்றும் வழக்கறிஞர்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் சிரமங்கள் குறைய, 9 மற்றும் 7 நீதிபதிகளின் அமர்வுகளை அதிகப்படுத்தும் திட்டமும் முன்மொழியப்பட்டுள்ளது. அரசியல் சார்ந்த விசாரணைகளின் நீண்டநாள் நிலுவை முடிவடையும் எனவும் எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.
Across India, including Tamil Nadu, over 90,000 pending Supreme Court cases are expected to be fast-tracked as Kuriyakant prepares to take charge as the next Chief Justice of India. Strengthening the higher judiciary and reducing case disposal delays will be the prime focus of his tenure.
The judicial system is set to increase the frequency of 9- and 7-judge benches to reduce legal delays affecting citizens and legal professionals. Long-pending sensitive cases, including political disputes, are also expected to be prioritized for early verdicts under the new leadership.
