A 60-year-old woman was mauled to death by a tiger near the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve close to Udhagai. The attack occurred when she went to the forest area nearby for collecting firewood early in the morning.
Forest officials have recovered the body and initiated formal inquiry and post-mortem procedures.
Following the tragic incident, additional patrolling has been deployed in the area, and villagers have urged authorities to strengthen safety measures to prevent future attacks.
