தினசரி ஆயிரக்கணக்கில் மணல் கடத்தல் நடைபெறுவது கவலைக்குரியது | Daily large-scale sand smuggling raises serious concern
தமிழக லாரி உரிமையாளர்கள் சங்கம் தெரிவித்த தகவலின்படி, மாநிலம் முழுவதும் தினசரி சுமார் 3,000 லோடு மணல் சட்டவிரோதமாக எடுத்துச் செல்லப்படுவதாக புகார் எழுந்துள்ளது. இந்த கடத்தல் காரணமாக அரசு வருவாய் இழப்பு அதிகரித்து வருவதாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது.
மணல் கடத்தலை தடுக்கும் நடவடிக்கைகள் மிகக் குறைவாக உள்ளதால், பல மாவட்டங்களில் இதன் தாக்கம் அதிகமாக இருப்பதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. இதனால் பொதுமக்களும் சுற்றுச்சூழல் ஆர்வலர்களும் கவலை வெளியிட்டுள்ளனர்.
According to the Tamil Nadu Lorry Owners Association, nearly 3,000 truckloads of sand are reportedly smuggled every day across the state. This illegal activity is said to be causing significant revenue loss to the government.
Due to insufficient preventive measures, several districts are facing the impact of excessive sand theft. Environmental activists and the general public have raised strong concerns over the growing scale of smuggling.
