இந்தியா–கனடா இடையிலான யூரேனியம் வாங்கும் ஒப்பந்தம் நீட்டிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அடுத்த 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு இந்தியாவுக்கு தேவையான அணு எரிசக்தி தேவையை பூர்த்தி செய்யும் வகையில் கனடா யூரேனியம் வழங்க ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்தாகியுள்ளது. இதன் மூலம் அணு மின்சார உற்பத்தி தொடர்ந்து நிலைத்திருக்கவும், எரிசக்தி பாதுகாப்பு வலுவடையவும் வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது.

India and Canada have officially extended their uranium supply agreement for another decade. Under this deal, Canada will supply uranium required for India’s growing nuclear energy needs, supporting long-term power generation and strengthening the nation’s energy security.
Valued at nearly ₹25,000 crore, the agreement is expected to boost India’s nuclear infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted fuel supply to several nuclear power plants. Experts note that this deal will play a crucial role in meeting the rising electricity demand across multiple Indian states.
