The incident occurred in Idaikal, Tenkasi district, where a road accident victim was reportedly treated on the hospital floor due to the lack of available beds. Visuals of the patient lying on the floor and receiving first aid were widely shared online, sparking concerns among residents.
Relatives stated that the government hospital did not have enough beds at the time, forcing staff to administer treatment on the floor. This raised questions about infrastructure adequacy in the facility. Responding to public concern, the Health Minister has sought an immediate explanation and ordered corrective measures.
Further investigations and administrative actions are expected to follow as authorities review the situation and address the shortage of essential medical infrastructure.
