தென்மேற்கு வங்கக்கடலில் உருவாகிய டிட்ட்வா புயல் தற்போது சென்னைக்கு சுமார் 400 கிலோமீட்டர் தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ளதாக வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. புதுச்சேரிக்கு 300 கிலோமீட்டரும், காரைக்கால் பகுதியுக்கு 190 கிலோமீட்டரும் தொலைவில் புயல் மையம் நகர்ந்து வருவதாகவும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
நாளை காலை 65 கிமீ. அளவிற்கு பலத்த காற்று வீசும் வாய்ப்பும், மாலை 5.30 மணியளவில் 55 கிமீ. வேகத்துடன் புயல் தாக்கும் சாத்தியம் இருப்பதாகவும் வானிலை மையம் எச்சரித்துள்ளது. சென்னையைத் தொடந்து கடலோர மாவட்டங்களில் தயார்நிலை முன்னெச்சரிக்கை செயல்பாடுகள் தீவிரப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.
Cyclone Ditva has intensified over the southwest Bay of Bengal and is currently positioned around 400 km away from Chennai, according to the latest weather bulletin. The system lies 300 km from Puducherry and about 190 km from Karaikal as it continues to move north-westward.
Gusty winds reaching 65 km/h are expected by tomorrow morning, while wind speeds may touch 55 km/h by around 5:30 PM as the cyclone approaches the coast. Authorities in Chennai and nearby coastal districts have heightened precautionary measures in anticipation of possible impact.
