தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள ஊதிய ஏற்றத்தாழ்வு மற்றும் புதிய கோவிக்கசேசன் நிலுவை தொடர்பான கோரிக்கைகள் நீண்டநேரம் தீராது இருப்பதால், டிசம்பர் 1, 5 மற்றும் 24 ஆகிய தேதிகளில் மாநிலம் முழுவதும் 3 கட்ட வேலைநிறுத்தத்தில் ஈடுபட ஆசிரியர்கள் சங்கங்கள் முடிவு செய்துள்ளன. இதன் காரணமாக பள்ளி செயல்பாடுகள் பாதிக்கப்படலாம் என கல்வித்துறை வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவித்தன.
அரசு ஊழியர்கள் மற்றும் ஆசிரியர்கள் பல ஆண்டுகளாக நிலுவையில் உள்ள சம்பள சீரமைப்பை விரைவில் செயல்படுத்த வேண்டும் என வலியுறுத்தி வருகின்றனர். இந்த முறையீடுகள் நிறைவேறாததால், வேலைநிறுத்தம் தவிர வேறு வழியில்லை என சங்கங்கள் கூறுகின்றன.
