தமிழகத்தில் 2025 கல்வியாண்டில் 12ஆம் வகுப்பு எழுதி தேர்ச்சி பெற்ற 3.23 லட்சம் மாணவர்களில் சுமார் 17,000 பேர் எந்த உயர்கல்வி நிலையிலும் சேராதது கல்வித்துறையில் கவலைக்குரிய சூழலை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. இந்த எண்ணிக்கை கடந்த ஆண்டு காட்டிய அளவை விட அதிகமாக இருப்பது அதிகாரிகள் கூறுகின்றனர்.
மாணவர்கள் தொடர்ந்த கல்வியைத் தவிர்க்கும் முக்கிய காரணங்களாக பொருளாதார சிக்கல்கள், குடும்ப பொறுப்புகள் மற்றும் அரசு வழங்கும் உதவித் திட்டங்களைப் பயன்படுத்த முடியாத நிலை ஆகியவை குறிக்கப்படுகின்றன. இதை சமாளிக்கும் வகையில் குறிப்பிட்ட மாணவர்களுக்கு ஆலோசனை மற்றும் வழிகாட்டல் முகாம்கள் நடத்த அரசு திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.
தமிழக முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் அரசு சமீபத்தில் அறிவித்த ‘முதல் தலைமுறை பட்டதாரி’ திட்ட விரிவாக்கம் மூலம் கூடுதல் மாணவர்கள் உயர்கல்வி பக்கம் திரும்ப உதவப்படும் என கல்வித்துறை நம்புகிறது. அதே நேரத்தில், மாணவர்கள் கல்வியை இடைநிறுத்தாமல் தொடர பெற்றோர் விழிப்புணர்வு அவசியம் என நிபுணர்கள் வலியுறுத்துகின்றனர்.
In Tamil Nadu, nearly 3.23 lakh students passed the Class 12 examination this academic year, but shockingly around 17,000 students have not enrolled in any higher education institution. Officials note that this number is slightly higher compared to last year, raising concerns in the education department.
Economic constraints, family responsibilities, and lack of awareness about government schemes are said to be the major reasons behind this dropout trend. To address this, the state plans to conduct counseling and guidance programs to bring students back into higher education.
The government also hopes that the expanded First-Generation Graduate Scheme will encourage more students to pursue college education. Experts emphasize the need for strong parental awareness to ensure students do not discontinue their studies.
