தமிழ்நாட்டில் கடந்த சில நாட்களாக தக்காளி விலை மீண்டும் உயர்வு கண்டுள்ளது. டிசம்பர் 1, 2025 நிலவரப்படி, சென்னை, கோயம்புத்தூர், மதுரை உள்ளிட்ட முக்கிய சந்தைகளில் ஒரு கிலோ தக்காளி ₹50 முதல் ₹60 வரை விற்பனை செய்யப்படுகிறது.
வானிலை மாற்றம், மழையால் விளைச்சல் பாதிப்பு மற்றும் வரத்து குறைவு காரணமாக இந்த விலை உயர்வு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாக வியாபாரிகள் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர். குறிப்பாக தோட்டக்கலைத் துறையில் உற்பத்தி குறைந்ததே சந்தையில் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
இந்த விலை உயர்வு குடும்பச் செலவுகளை அதிகரிக்கச் செய்யும் நிலையில், அரசு தலையீடு செய்து விலை கட்டுப்பாட்டு நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்க வேண்டும் என நுகர்வோர் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர்.
In Tamil Nadu, tomato prices have seen a fresh spike over the past few days. As of December 1, 2025, retail prices in major markets like Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai range between ₹50 and ₹60 per kg.
Traders attribute the price rise to reduced supply caused by weather changes, rainfall damage, and lower yield from tomato-growing regions. The shortage in horticulture produce has directly impacted market availability.
With rising tomato prices adding pressure on household budgets, consumers are urging the state government to step in with price control measures and increased market supply to stabilize costs.
