தமிழ்நாட்டில் நடைபெறும் வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் திருத்தப் பணிகளின் போது சுமார் 84.91 லட்சம் பதிவுகள் சரிபார்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தேர்தல் நிர்வாகம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இதில் தகுதி இல்லாதவர்கள், இடம் பெயர்ந்தவர்கள் மற்றும் இரட்டை பதிவுகள் ஆகியவை கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளன.
இந்த சரிபார்ப்பு அடிப்படையில் சுமார் 85 லட்சம் பேர் வாக்காளர் பட்டியலில் இருந்து நீக்கப்பட வாய்ப்பு இருப்பதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. இதில் 44 லட்சம் பேர் நிரந்தரமாக இடம் பெயர்ந்தவர்கள் என்றும், 26 லட்சம் பேர் இறந்தவர்கள் என்றும் அதிகாரபூர்வ தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் துல்லியமாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக இந்த நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக அதிகாரிகள் விளக்கம் அளித்துள்ளனர். பொதுமக்கள் தங்களது விவரங்களை சரிபார்த்து, தேவையான திருத்தங்களை செய்யுமாறு அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
During the voter list revision process in Tamil Nadu, election authorities have stated that around 84.91 million records were verified. This included identification of ineligible voters, migrants, and duplicate entries.
Based on this verification, there is a possibility that nearly 8.5 million names may be removed from the electoral rolls. Officials indicated that about 4.4 million belong to permanently migrated voters, while 2.6 million are deceased persons.
Authorities clarified that this exercise aims to maintain accuracy and transparency in the voter list. Citizens have been advised to check their details and submit corrections wherever required.
