நான்கு மணி நேரம் 100 போலீசார் சம்பவ இடத்தில் இருந்தும் மாணவியை கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியவில்லை என்பது அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இதேசமயம், காவல் துறை நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்து ஆணையர் அளித்த விளக்கமும் மாற்றமடைந்துள்ளது.
முதலில் “சம்பவ இடம் பெரியது என்பதால் தேடுதல் சிரமம் ஏற்பட்டது” என கூறிய ஆணையர், பின்னர் “தகவல் தாமதமாக கிடைத்தது” என தெரிவித்துள்ளார். இதனால் காவல் துறையின் செயல்பாடு குறித்து எதிர்க்கட்சிகள் கடும் விமர்சனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளன.
The Coimbatore police came under heavy criticism after it was revealed that over 100 officers were present near the crime scene for nearly four hours but failed to locate the missing student. Adding to the controversy, the Police Commissioner’s statements appeared inconsistent.
Initially, the commissioner cited the “vast search area” as the reason for the delay, but later claimed “late information” as the cause. The opposition parties have condemned the shifting stance, demanding accountability and transparency in the ongoing investigation.
