வேலூர் மாவட்டம் பேரணாம்பட்டு அருகே காரில் மறைத்து கொண்டு செல்லப்பட்ட 500 மது பாக்கெட்டுகளை போலீசார் பிடித்துள்ளனர். மது கடத்தலில் ஈடுபட்ட மூவரும் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே கைது செய்யப்பட்டனர்.
நிலவாகத் திகழும் சட்டவிரோத மது விற்பனை மற்றும் கடத்தல் குறித்து போலீசார் கண்காணிப்பு தீவிரப்படுத்திய நிலையில் இந்த பறிமுதல் நடவடிக்கை நடைபெற்றுள்ளது. அருகிலுள்ள பகுதிகளில் மது பாக்கெட் விற்பனை அதிகரித்துள்ளதாக மக்கள் புகார் தெரிவித்தனர்.
இந்த சம்பவம் சட்டவிரோத மது பரவல் குறித்து மீண்டும் கேள்விகள் எழுப்பியுள்ளதுடன், போலீசார் தொடர்ந்து நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதாக தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
Police have seized 500 liquor sachets that were being transported in a car near Pernampattu in Vellore district. Three individuals involved in the smuggling attempt were arrested on the spot.
The operation took place as part of intensified surveillance by the police to curb illegal liquor sales and transportation in the region. Residents had earlier complained about increasing liquor sachet distribution in nearby areas.
The incident has once again raised concerns over the spread of illegal liquor, and officials have assured continuous action to control the situation.
