சென்னையில் உள்ள பல பள்ளிகளில் ஆசிரியர்கள் SIR பணிக்கு அரசு அலுவலகங்களுக்கு அழைக்கப்படுவது குறித்து ஆசிரியர் கூட்டமைப்புகள் கடும் அதிருப்தி தெரிவித்துள்ளன. இது பள்ளி நேரங்களில் மாணவர்களின் கல்வி தரத்தை பாதிக்கக்கூடும் என அவர்கள் எச்சரிக்கின்றனர்.
SGT ஆசிரியர்கள் கட்டாயமாக பணிக்கு அழைக்கப்படுவதால் பள்ளி பணி பாதிக்கப்படுவதாகவும், இது கல்வி சூழல் சரிவதற்கான காரணமாக மாறிவருவதாகவும் ஆசிரியர்கள் குற்றஞ்சாட்டுகின்றனர். ஒரு ஆசிரியருக்கு 50 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்டோரையும் பணியில் ஈடுபடுத்தியுள்ளதாகவும் தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளன.
ஆசிரியர் இல்லாமை பணியாளர் பற்றாக்குறையை மேலும் மோசமாக்கும் என்பதால், அரசு உடனடி நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து பள்ளி பணியை முன்னுரிமைப்படுத்த வேண்டும் என ஆசிரியர் சங்கங்கள் வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. தற்போதைய நிர்வாக நடைமுறை குறித்து பலரும் கவலை தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
Teachers’ unions in Chennai have expressed strong dissatisfaction over educators being called away from classrooms for SIR duties during school hours. They warn that this disrupts academic schedules and affects student learning quality.
Reports state that several SGT teachers have been compulsorily assigned to election-related tasks, leading to gaps in classroom teaching. Concerns have also been raised that even teachers aged above 50 are being deployed for the workload.
Unions insist that this staff shortage severely impacts school functioning, urging the government to prioritize academic duties over administrative assignments. Many educators are calling for immediate reforms to protect the learning environment.
