தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் தரவு பாதுகாப்பு காரணமாக 87 வெளிநாட்டு செயலிகளுக்கு மத்திய அரசு தடை விதித்துள்ளது | Citing national security and data protection concerns, the Union Government has banned 87 foreign apps
தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு, பயனர்களின் தனிப்பட்ட தகவல் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் நாட்டின் இறையாண்மைக்கு ஆபத்தாக இருப்பதாக கூறி, 87 வெளிநாட்டு செயலிகளுக்கு மத்திய அரசு தடை விதித்துள்ளது. இந்த நடவடிக்கை 2000ஆம் ஆண்டு தகவல் தொழில்நுட்ப சட்டத்தின் பிரிவு 69A-ன் கீழ் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்த செயலிகள் இந்திய பயனர்களின் தரவுகளை அனுமதியின்றி சேகரித்து வெளிநாடுகளுக்கு அனுப்புவதாக மத்திய அரசு தரப்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன் காரணமாக சைபர் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் தேசிய நலன் பாதிக்கப்படும் என எச்சரிக்கை விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்த தடை 2025 டிசம்பர் 2 முதல் அமலில் வரும் நிலையில், இந்தியாவில் செயல்படும் டிஜிட்டல் தளங்களில் தரவு பாதுகாப்பு விதிகள் மேலும் கடுமையாக அமல்படுத்தப்படும் என அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
The Union Government has imposed a ban on 87 foreign apps, citing threats to national security, user data safety, and India’s sovereignty. The decision has been taken under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
According to official sources, these apps were found to be collecting sensitive user data and transmitting it to servers outside India without proper authorization. Such practices were flagged as serious risks to cyber security and national interest.
The ban will come into effect from December 2, 2025, and authorities have indicated that stricter data protection and digital compliance norms will be enforced across platforms operating in India.
